AIDesk is a Windows desktop application designed to provide AI chat capabilities through both local models and cloud AI services. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to transparency about how your data is handled.
Desktop Application Privacy
AIDesk runs locally on your Windows machine. Your conversations, settings, and preferences are stored on your device, not on our servers.
All application data is stored locally on your computer
Telemetry and usage tracking are performed only with your consent (opt-in).
You maintain full control over your data
Local Mode vs Cloud Mode
Local Mode
When using Local Mode, all AI processing happens on your machine. Your prompts and responses never leave your computer. This provides maximum privacy and works completely offline.
Cloud Mode
When using Cloud Mode (Google Gemini or other cloud AI providers), your prompts are sent to the respective cloud service for processing. These services are governed by their own privacy policies:
Device Identification
AIDesk generates a unique device identifier for license validation purposes. This identifier is based on:
Your machine's hardware identifiers (MAC address, processor count)
Machine name and OS version
This data is encrypted and used only for license validation
Device IDs are not shared with third parties
License & API Key Management
Your license keys and API keys are stored securely:
API keys are encrypted using AES-256 encryption
License validation uses RSA digital signatures
Keys are stored in a local database (LiteDB) on your machine
Credentials are never transmitted in plain text
Data Storage
AIDesk stores the following data locally on your machine:
Chat history and conversation threads
Application settings and preferences
License keys and API credentials (encrypted)
User profile information
You can delete any or all of this data at any time through the application settings.
What We Don't Collect
We do not track your usage or behavior
We do not collect analytics or telemetry data
We do not sell or share your data with third parties
We do not display advertisements
We do not have access to your conversations (Local Mode)
Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
Right to access all data stored by the application
Right to modify or update your information
Right to delete your data at any time
Right to export your data
